Taco Bell vs. the Crisp falafel

Got a mexican falafel from Crisp the other day. Guess that was my first mistake. Crisp is so damn busy creating all sorts of funny falafel combos that they forgot about flavor. Yes they have some sauces but they too lack any kick and the counter folks are super stingy about disbursing them...  Unlike so many other falafel joints that probably should attach a surgeon generals warning to the sauce bottles they allow you free reign at.
Packaged in cardboard, tasted like cardboard

The lady swore it would be a little spicy, it wasn't. Also for a veggie falafel the price point was a total joke, $8-9??  How many combinations of random tb goodness could I have gotten for that much?

But Crisp isn't made for a utilitarian who just wants to get fed a quick, good, decently priced lunch..  It's for a midtown luncher that has some spare time, no urge to be carnivorous, prefers freshness to flavor, and craves a clean well-lit place to get lunch.  I like those things too but not when it means eating a cardboard falafel and being left hungry and nearly $10 poorer.

Taco Bell isn't always (or ever) super fresh, super clean, or super well lit. It's not "fast casual" (I can address my disdain for that term later).  But the one thing they get right is taste, price, and serving size - actually that's three things.

So yes, you guessed it. I wish I had taco bell instead.
